House Of Pasta Bar

Hi Eaters.

Late night dinner search brought me to this restaurant. As always in Sundays I happened to be around Kelapa Gading, exploring the vast culinary area and hundreds of restaurants available here.
I was strolling around with a friend who happened to be craving for pasta. And you know there is one big pasta restaurant located in Kelapa Gading which was btw our first intended location until we saw this restaurant on our way to make a U-turn and decided to stop-by. The restaurant is called House of Pasta Bar.

Located not far from Gepuk Ny. Ong, this restaurant didn't seem to be catchy enough. I mean, it uses green as its main color, which actually IMHO doesn't represent pasta or Italian in such.

There was nothing fancy about the interior. White color dominating most of the paintjob. The place itself wasn't that spacious although it's a two-storey building. But the service was nice. The waitresses were very friendly to me that day, and also very informative about the menu.
So let's just move on to the food.

Pesto Cream Fettucine with Beef Meatball Topping (medium) - IDR 40K

Here you can customize your pasta order. Starting from choosing what kind of pasta you want (there are 8 kinds of pastas to choose), and then you can choose the sauce (there are 6 kinds of sauces to choose) and finally you can choose the topping (there are 7 kinds of toppings to choose). The price is determined on what kind of topping you choose. 
My choice that night was my favourite kind of pasta, the fettucine. I decided to try out the pesto cream sauce along with the beef meatball topping as suggested by the waitress.
You can also opt for the restaurant's recommendation if you don't want to customize the pasta.




For my palate, this dish tasted really good. The pasta was perfectly cooked. It's al-dente and also not greasy. The pesto sauce was delicious. It's not too garlicky with quite a dominant basil taste. The beef meatball tasted a bit herbally. But it's also quite savory too. The texture was good and it didn't crumble easily.

Sirloin Steak - IDR 70K

It happens that this restaurant also serves other dishes besides pasta. You can order soups, pizzas, varieties of appetizers and light bites, fried rice, and even steak as the one I ordered.
You can also request the level of doneness for the steak. And that day I requested my steak to be cooked medium-rare.
You can also choose the sauce. And I opted for the mushroom sauce.




It turned out that my steak didn't came medium-rare as I ordered. It's cooked medium. The good thing was that my steak in the medium doneness didn't came rubbery. I still found some fat in the steak which had already turned rubbery and a bit hard to chew. But the most part of the steak was quite juicy. And my favourite part of this dish was the mushroom sauce. It was unbelievably delicious! The other great thing was that I got two side dishes to choose. I had french fries and onion rings that day. The french fries was salted so it tasted nice, and the onion rings tasted good too. Besides of the rubbery fat part of the meat, thid dish was perfect.

Ice Tea

A nice cold tea to cleanse the fat from the steak and the pasta. 

Overall conclusion, the food was excellent. Regardless of the simple and not spacious place, this restaurant has got some delicious food to try.
The pasta was great, and also the steak. Prices are quite reasonable. You pay this much at any other pasta restaurant (could be higher somewhere) but here, you get an extra bonus of taste buds endulgement.
Do try their pasta. I recommend this restaurant and I'm looking forward for another visit.
